Our personal Plone add-ons blacklist
Our personal blacklist of packages and add-ons that are fragile or often cause problems or are over-designed or under-engineered.
- medialog.* - software written by a designer trying to program...constantly problems and complaints from customers. Partly badly packaged and documented
- enpraxis.staticstite - almost zero documentation, fails immediately after calling @@deployform on the Plone site root
- Quintagroup stuff is in general fragile...working in one version but broken in the next version...like playing Russian roulette
- Singing & Dancing (lots of trouble with updates and version dependencies) - avoid it
- Collage (at least V 1.3 claims being compatible with Plone but still has a bunch of Plone 3 specific code that fails on Plone 4)
- PloneGazette - terrible implementation, several internal hacks, just scary
